Easy Summer Lunch: Avocado Tartare

As temperatures are rising almost everywhere in Europe, the last thing I want to do is adding to that heat by cooking hot meals in the kitchen. That’s why this recipe is less about cooking, but more about assembling delicious ingredients and if you like avocados, you’ll love this avocado tartare.

Mozzarella Tomato Avocado Tartare

Here’s what you’ll need to make avocado tartare:

  • 1 fresh and ripe avocado
  • some tomatoes
  • mozzarella cheese
  • olive oil
  • salt
  • pepper
  • lime juice
  • lime zest

How to assemble this avocado tartare:

  1. Mash the avocado with a fork in a small bowl and season with salt, pepper, lime juice and lime zest.
  2. Chop the tomatoes and marinade them with a tiny bit of lime juice. I prefer small, sweet tomatoes for this dish.
  3. Dice mozzarella cheese.
  4. Use a ring mold if you have one to assemble the avocado tartare.
  5. Place the ring mold onto a plate and carefully pack the mold with the ingredients. Use a spoon and gently press down after each layer to flatten the surface.
  6. When done, remove the ring mold and drizzle the tartare with some olive oil.
  7. Enjoy!

The flavours are absolutely fantastic when combined and the dish is healthy and light. Perfect for summer, I’d say! Also, a squeeze or two of lime and its zest add so much taste and freshness.

Speaking of DELICIOUS, this looks heavenly! I can already GUARANTEE you that this will become a go-to recipe for me and I will be sharing it with my mom. i know she is planning lots of summer dinner parties and this recipe seems perfect for an APPETIZER. I think the ingredients are simple enough that you can’t really go wrong with it and everyone is bound to enjoy it, but it looks super fancy – like something you’d get at a five start RESTAURANT so you can impress your guests this way too. Thank you for this amazing recipe dear :)

Thank you Isabella, for leaving such a wonderful comment on my latest recipe post. <3
I, too, think that many people would enjoy this dish. It's rather simple but using great produce will really elevate it. It always pays to use the best ingredients when "cooking".

You’re a genious! I was just wondering what I should do with the avocado I bought a couple of days ago so it doesn’t go rotten and here you are with this brilliant idea! Thanks so much.

This food looks amazing! I agree about the heated temperatures. I am still drinking my hot coffee and hot tea even though it is crazy outside. Hoping it gets cooler soon since it is going to be August soon. This is a wonderful post. If you decide to buy a new Chanel. You can go on Fashionphile. They sell newer styles as well. I bought the vintage lambskin Chanel shoulder bag that was in my other post. I hope your enjoying your weekend. :)

Usually, in August it’s even hotter in Vienna. Well, we’ll see.
I’ve already splurged on a new one. Can’t wait to receive it.

Das sieht ja wirklich köstlich aus. Ich koche ja nie gern, auch dann nicht, wenn es draußen kälter ist, aber mit Avocado, Tomate und Mozzarella kann man glaube ich nicht viel falsch machen.
