Mexican Parmesan Taco Cups

I have a new recipe for Taco Tuesday for you so let’s taco about how awesome this recipe is. Over here, we make it a priority to regularly feast on tacos, burritos, or anything that is a Mexican food staple. Mexican cuisine is just so, so good. If you like tacos as much as I do, you will savour these Mexican parmesan taco cups.

To change the routine, we decided to whip up some parmesan cheese cups and filled them to our liking. Let me just say that these were so good that I have developed a bit of an obsession with cheesy taco shells. There is honestly nothing better than sitting down and devouring crunchy, spicy and cheesy tacos.

The recipe may sound like a lot of work but it’s not really the case. The parmesan shells are easy and quick to make. For 2 baskets you will need

  • 80g of grated parmesan cheese
  • salt and pepper

Preheat the oven to 200°C. On a large baking tray lined with baking paper divide the parmesan cheese into 2 circles and bake them for 4-6 minutes until the cheese is melted. In the meantime, put some small  bowls upside down and, with a large spatula, drape each circle of cheese when melted over the bowls. Now you just have to let them cool down.

You can now load your cheesy taco cups with your favourite fillings.

The taste of these taco shells is great and they are a real crowd-pleaser. The best part is that they can be made well in advance so invite some friends for Taco Tuesday and enjoy some crunchy, cheesy, spicy and absolutely scrumptious food. parmesan taco cups

We will, for sure, make these parmesan bowls again. I imagine that these would be also the perfect baskets to hold some cheesy pasta or salad.
